I am a journalist, where do I start?

Scoopasia's front page gives you a good overview of what's happening with the latest press releases, upcoming events, and latest jobs.

If you're from a trade, niche, or enthusiasts press, you may wish to drill down into the specific topics that you're covering within the press releases or event listings sections.

And if you know specifically what you're after, maybe a product or company, type it into the search for immediate results.

If you're as lazy as we are, all content down to the individual topics, can be sent direct to you via real-time RSS feeds or daily email alerts.

I'm in public relations/marketing/events/headhunting, how do I get my information on Scoopasia?

Easy, all you have to do is register for a FREE account.

Once you're registered, an automated email will be sent to you, confirm your identity by clicking the given link and you're done!

Come back to Scoopasia, login to the control panel and start publishing! It couldn't be easier.

How do I publish content on Scoopasia?

Everything a content provider needs is in the Control Panel.

Once you're registered and logged in, click on the Control Panel button on the right side menu to bring up your Control Panel interface.

The control panel will show you the latest content you've published.

To publish a press release, click "New press release" within the "My Press Releases" section.

This will lead you to a form that breaks down your press release into its most discreet parts. Publishing the correct information into the appropriate fields is important for presentation, clarity, and readability.

Feel free to leave sections you don't require blank. Only fields marked with * must be filled as they make up a basic press release.

Publishing other content is similar and fields specially designed for that type of content are provided.

Can I attach images, documents, videos, and other files to my press releases?

Yes, but as a link. Due to the current lack of storage space on our servers, Scoopasia does not permit the uploading and storing of attached files. Instead, we allow you to add direct hyperlinks to the press releases. We recommend that you host attachments on your own servers or place them on free and reliable hosting services such as:

How long does my content stay on Scoopasia?

ScoopAsia keeps all published information indefinitely. Press releases, event listings, and media jobs will remain within Scoopasia as a searchable archive.

Can I track my content once it's on Scoopasia?

Yes you can! The Control Panel displays the exact number of times your published content has been clicked.

I made a boo boo! How do I make changes to my content?

We understand, we make mistakes too. Login, go to the Control Panel and click the "Edit" which is on the same table row as your post. That brings up a form similar to what you published with and let's you continue from where you left off.

Can I preview my content before it goes live on Scoopasia?

Sure. At the bottom of every publish form, there's an option called "Status". Select "Closed" before submitting your post. The article will not show up anywhere on Scoopasia except in your private Control Panel.

Click on the title of the post to preview it exactly as it will appear on Scoopasia.

Once you're happy, click on "Edit" and change the status to "Open" to make it public on Scoopasia.

Can I set an embargo date for my press releases?

Yup. Just make sure the "Publish Date" on the new press release form is in the future. Please note that the internal clock on Scoopasia is set to UTC/GMT +8 hours (Singapore and Hong Kong time).

Hint: You can backdate a press release too if you simply want it stored on Scoopasia as a reference.

Can I include HTML code into my content?

If you're thinking about adding links or clickable emails, Scoopasia does it automatically for you. If a URL begins with "http://…" or email with and "@" sign, it will automatically be converted to clickable links. How cool is that?!

But other than those automated code additions, Scoopasia only accepts plain text. This is a security measure to prevent users from exploiting the system with custom code. If you insist on having a certian design/layout, our suggestion is for you to attach a document (for press releases) or link to a web page from the posting.

How do I get my content to stay at the top and have more prominence?

Sorry, but you can't. ScoopAsia is an impartial publicly available publishing system that works on a first in, first out premise.

But do remember that your press release also flows via RSS and email to the journalist's desktop, is stored in the category you picked, and is available via search the moment you publish it.
